When Beth and I got married, we were straight out of college. I know many couple who do this or even get married while still in college. It’s a totally common occurrence. The odd part about our new marriage was that were were debt free. We had no credit card bills and no student loans.
THAT is not so common.
It set our new family on a path to where we still are debt free other than our house. Now, it hasn’t been easy, and we aren’t swimming in piles of gold coin like Scrooge McDuck. But we’ve made it work and have enjoyed vacations, new cars, and some simple luxuries. We live well within our means, and that can largely be attributed to our lack of student loan debt. This video helps explain the danger of student loan debt, and the problem with costly higher education.
