I’m excited to write that there will be an upcoming major motion picture release of Les Misérables which will be based on the hit Broadway musical version. Ever since a musical version of Phantom of the Opera was released, I’ve been hoping for a Les Mis follow up. Now it’s coming in December.

It’s also encouraging to see A-list actors involved in the project as well. Russell Crowe, Hugh Jackman, Anne Hathaway, and Sacha Baron Cohen are all involved. Colm Wilkinson, who originally played Jean Valjean in London, even makes an appearance as the Bishop Digne.

If done correctly this could right the wrong done by the 1998 version starring Liam Neeson and Uma Thurman. What an absolute travesty that one was.

Anyway, I’m excited.
